First United Methodist Church Leadership

First United Methodist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev Terre McGill

Pastor

Rev. Terre McGill has had a deep and abiding passion for ministry since 1995 when she started working with the youngest members of the faith community at Martin United Methodist Church.  This was the place where she felt the first stirring of her call to a life of ministry.  Throughout the years this call has grown and changed as she served at Richland Hills UMC, Joshua UMC, Trinity UMC, and Martin UMC in various Christian Education and Associate positions and most recently as the pastor of both Cresson and Waples UMC.

Rev. McGill did undergraduate work at TCC and East Texas State and has completed the Course of Study at Perkins.  She also holds a certifictaion in Christian Education.  Over the course of the past 23 years, she has enjoyed a wide variety of ministry opportunities working with children, youth, and adults including the development of small groups for all ages, outreach work through the implementation of a tutoring program, the support and encouragment of laity to grow and assume leadership within the ministries of the church and leadership within worship.  She has served within the Central Texas Conference as a Design Team member and presenter for the Academy of Christian Education and a presenter for "Equipping Families for Faith: A Conference for Church Leaders" as well as her work in various churches within the CTC teaching Created by God.  In addition to her local church responsibilities, Rev. McGill is also involved with the Depression Connection for Recovery, a non-profit organization through which she facilitates groups for those with depression, bipolar or anxiety.

Rev. McGill resides in Forth Worth with her husband Shawn and together they have three daughters, a son in law and two beautiful grandchildren:  Tehya, her husband Zach and their children Paisley (6) and Declan (2), Savannah and Sadie.  In her spare time Rev. McGill enjoys reading, loves spending time with family and friends and hopes to have future opportunities to indulge her love of travel.

Sondra Gibson

Administrative Assistance

Sondra Gibson is the Administrative Assistant for FUMC Springtown.

She has loved working for and being a part of our church family for the past 17 years.  She has been married to the love of her life, Hugh Gibson, for 46 years. They moved to Springtown in 2003 and enjoy their four-acre place with a garden and grandkids!  They love to share family time with their two daughters and their spouses, who have grown in their hearts immensely.

Sondra and Hugh have been blessed to fellowship here at the church through the years in friendships, laughter, love, and growing in God's Word and relationship with our Lord.

Sondra's plan, for now, is to continue serving in her role at the church office, where she can connect with people who need guidance or a helping hand.  She enjoys being able to bring smiles to the faces of those who walk through our doors, call on our phones, or even email or text.  She has felt very loved and encouraged by so many here in the church family, even through all the seasons we have experienced.  Sondra has been blessed to witness God's grace as He has brought hope, joy, and kindness to countless hearts as she has served in this place He has called her.
