First United Methodist Church Springtown
First United Methodist Church of Springtown has been part of the Springtown community since 1857. Rooted in Jesus Christ, we seek to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously. We welcome people of every age, background, and stage of faith to grow in God’s grace, serve their neighbors, and share in the life of the church.
We are a community of people learning to love God, love one another, and serve the world in the name of Christ. Whether you have been part of a church your whole life, are returning after time away, or are exploring faith for the first time, you are welcome here.
We invite you to join us for worship, study, fellowship, and service on Sundays and throughout the week. We understand that visiting a new church can feel unfamiliar or intimidating, so we strive to offer a warm, welcoming environment where you can participate fully or simply take time to observe. You will find meaningful worship, practical and biblical teaching, caring people, and opportunities for all ages to grow in faith.
God invites each person into a life-giving relationship through Jesus Christ. You are deeply loved by God and have a place in this community. We hope you will join us as we seek God, grow in faith, and serve together.
Faith
At First United Methodist Church, we believe that faith is a lifelong journey of responding to God’s grace. Through worship, prayer, Scripture, fellowship, and service, we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
We invite you to come as you are. Whether you are ready to participate, have questions, or simply want to learn more, there is room for you here. Together, we seek to know Christ more fully and to live out our faith in everyday life.
Family
We value families and believe the church should be a spiritual home for people of every generation. Children, youth, adults, and older adults all have an important place in the life and ministry of the church.
Each Sunday, we offer opportunities for children and families to worship, learn, and grow in age-appropriate ways. Our children’s and youth ministries help young people encounter the love of Christ, learn the stories of Scripture, build meaningful relationships, and discover how they can serve God in the world.
Leadership
First United Methodist Church is strengthened by the shared ministry of clergy and laity. In the United Methodist tradition, every baptized person is called to participate in the ministry of Jesus Christ. Our pastors provide spiritual leadership, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and guidance; however, the church’s ministry is carried out through the gifts, prayers, service, and leadership of the whole congregation.
We believe that God has given every person unique gifts, experiences, and passions to be used for the building up of the church and the transformation of the community. Lay members serve in worship, teaching, hospitality, outreach, missions, care ministries, administration, and countless other areas of ministry. Their faithful leadership is essential to the life of the church.
Through shared leadership, prayerful discernment, and a commitment to following Christ, we seek to equip every person to discover and use their gifts in service to God and neighbor. Together, clergy and laity work to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
