First United Methodist Church of Springtown is a warm and welcoming community rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ. What are your services like?

In the United Methodist tradition, worship is a means of grace through which God forms and renews us as the body of Christ. Through prayer, music, Scripture, and proclamation, we encounter the living Word and are invited into a deeper relationship with God. Each gathering is designed to draw us into God’s presence and send us forth in faithful response. 

We also gather at the Lord’s Table on the first Sunday and Wednesday of each month in both services, where we share in Holy Communion. In this sacred meal, we encounter the grace of Christ in a tangible way, receiving nourishment for the journey of faith and participating in the mystery of communion with God and with one another. All who seek Christ are welcome at the table.

Where should I go when I enter the building?

Sunday services take place in the Sanctuary.  The main entrance is the double wooden doors accessible by stairs or ramp.  If you are bringing children to the nursery, please enter the glass door to the left of the sanctuary marked "Office".

Wednesday worship takes place in the Family Life Center.  The Prayground is in the back of the large worship area for children under 4.

Do you provide childcare?

Yes.  A staffed nursery attendant is available for newborns to age 4.  

Are Children Welcome in Worship?

Children are always welcome in worship.  We believe the church is most fully itself when the whole body of Christ is gathered together. We celebrate the presence of children not as distractions, but as vital participants in the life of the church. They bring unique gifts, perspectives, and joy to our worship, and we encourage them to share those gifts for the building up of the body and the glory of God.

What should i expect in worship?

All are welcome in worship, no matter where you come from or where you find yourself on the journey of faith. We believe God’s grace is for all, and our community seeks to reflect that wide and gracious invitation. You are invited to come as you are—there is no expected dress or formality—simply come in what is comfortable as we gather together before God.
